This magazine was mimeographed on pink paper and stapled together, Reed himself almost certainly had his hands on every issue. I have searched online to exhaustion and could not find another copy of this magazine for sale, or even in a library or museum.
I know Syracuse University has a copy of the first issue in its archives, but I am unsure if even they have a copy of the second issue. Knowing how few copies were printed, and assuming that most copies were thrown away or lost soon after thatI would assume there are only a handful still in existence. Lou Reed's influence on rock music cannot be overstated, he is widely considered one of the most influential and groundbreaking artists in rock history. He is well known for his literary and poetic style, and this magazine is one of the earliest examples of his unique voice.
If you collect Lou Reed, Velvet Underground, or rock memorabilia, this is a once in a lifetime chance to own a piece of rock history. The magazine has some stains to the cover, is turned up at the corners, and has some fading and wear to the s, but is complete and clearly readable.
I am listing this magazine with no reserve, and will let collectors determine its true value. Good luck and. Please see my other auctions. Posted with eBay Mobile .
